OFFSHORE INDUSTRY:

Ocean Resource design, project manage and supervise the installation of a wide variety of offshore facilities and structures on the North West European Continental Shelf and throughout the world. We offer technical innovation combined with practical experience to reduce the cost of offshore operations in both deep and shallow water.

Ocean Resource have expertise in floating production, subsea production systems, fixed platforms, flowlines, pipelines, flexible and rigid riser systems and other offshore structures. We have experience of offshore operations since 1974 and our designs reflect the practicalities and requirements of a difficult operating environment.

Ocean Resource in-house expertise includes structural engineering, naval architecture, hydrodynamics, control systems, telecommunications, subsea engineering, reliability and availability studies, mechanical engineering, piping/pipeline design, remote power systems, offshore storage etc.

Ocean Resource are the World Leader in Remote Field Control Buoys with more experience than any other company.

ORIGINAL RESEARCH
TEACHER COMPANY SCHEME

Ocean Resource reinvest a high proportion of our income into original research. We lead, not follow, and, whilst many larger companies seek to copy Ocean Resource concepts, we stay ahead of the pack.

As part of our commitment to research and development we support the UK Teacher Company scheme undertaking original research in-house with associated UK Universities (e.g. Cardiff) and enabling employed engineers to gain postgraduate degrees.

Current project research is being undertaken into Fibre-reinforced concrete design and construction opening new horizons for both offshore and onshore construction to the benefits of this versatile new material. It offers low cost, low fatigue, high durability and low weight.

Other current research and development projects include:-

• LNG Transfer
• Acoustic Technology
• Pollution Monitoring
• Wind Power (Offshore-related)

TERMINALS, JETTIES, LOADING/OFFLOADING FACILITIES:

Ocean Resource design and project manage the construction of jetties and terminals. Our Ocean Terminals division is currently involved in the upgrading of petroleum products and LPG terminals world-wide.

We offer complex drift analysis, mooring analysis, safety assessments and equipment and systems specification in addition to detailed design of the jetties, fender systems, pipework, safety systems etc.

We have a specialised knowledge of Marine Loading Arms.

Ocean Resource also offer traffic surveys and occupancy studies preliminary to facility sizing.

In-house research and development is currently on-going in relation to both offshore and onshore LNG loading/offloading.

In addition to chemical or petroleum products handling we can also design solids handling systems including pneumatic conveying.

Finally we offer detailed design and supply of CALM type loading/offloading buoys systems.

WIND POWER:
Ocean Resource support the development of alternative energy sources through their sister company, Xanthus Energy Ltd.

Specifically we have used our considerable expertise to develop truly practical and low-cost support structures for offshore wind-power generation. This includes bottom mounted and floating structures.

The installed unit cost is very low, the design is based on a modular approach with greater cost savings for repeat production.

Maintenance costs are also low and the structure can be readily removed.

Our designs suit a range of seabed conditions and can incorporate gravity, piled, suction piled or pinned foundation.

WATER INFRASTRUCTURE, TRANSPORT AND STORAGE:
Ocean Resource are involved in the design of facilities for the water industry. These include permanent or temporary storage facilities for potable or untreated water, pipelines and pumping stations, distribution systems, loading/offloading facilities for marine transport, water extraction plants, hydro-electric scheme water intakes, and control and monitoring.

Ocean Resource also offer the supply of bulk potable or untreated water to any coastal destination throughout the World. Supply contracts can be tailored to meet precise client requirements and can incorporate lease/purchase of associated infrastructure facilities.
