Sentinel extends the monitoring horizon of a Command Centre
or Patrol Vessel. It is a force multiplier greatly increasing the
effectiveness of any intervention vessel or aircraft. Intelligence
gathered by one or more Sea Sentinels enable intruders in specified
areas to be more quickly identified and intercepted reducing sea-time
(and hence cost) and providing 24 hour cover of sensitive areas.

Sentinel provides complete Economic Exclusion
Zone (EEZ) protection in all weather and is capable of being fitted
with a wide range of sensors and equipments to allow the detection of
air, surface or sub-surface targets and the acquisition of data
relating to them or the environment around each buoy system.
Each buoy
communicates acquired data by a range of telemetry options (e.g.
Line-of-Sight, High Frequency or Satellite Telecommunications) to its
Command Centre which may be located on land, in an aircraft or on a
patrol vessel.
On-board
sensors and equipments may include air or surface radar, submarine
detection, thermal and optical cameras, electronic navigation beacons,
environmental and meteorological sensors etc. and a single Sea Sentinel
can be multi-tasked to provide data and services to different agencies
thus sharing cost.
