PRODUCT:
Sea Nova is a low-cost shallow water offshore production platform which can be configured for either oil or gas production. It normaly comprises a cellular reinforced concrete gravity base fitted with four unbraced tubular legs that support a conventional trussed deck. It is self-installing and does not require specialist or heavy lift vessels.

Sea Nova was specifically designed to be installed and removed easily and is, therefore, particularly suitable for 'field hopping'.

The Sea Nova superstructure supports process equipment, christmas trees, control room, helideck, accommodation and associated facilities etc. Risers and J-tubes are routed to the seabed inside the column legs, which are dry for ease of inspection and reduced corrosion. The conductors can be free spanning, pre-tensioned or supported by a conductor support frame. In some cases conductors can be also routed through the column legs.

COST:
The cost of Sea Nova is dependent on the type of certification, location and other design parameters including environmental conditions. As a general guide, however, Sea Nova is between 40-60% of the capital cost of a conventional platform. The estimated structural maintenance and inspection costs are approximately 10% of those for a conventional platform.
LOW-COST SHALLOW WATER PRODUCTION
Sea Nova has an integrated helideck that can accomodate any helicopter. The design allows helicopter transport to continue during all unsupported operations including wirelining, when a lubricator or hoist may be erected at any well position.

Sea Nova is extremely flexible providing a large deck area at minimal cost. Equipment can be located on one, two or three decks subject to requirements. The facility will support a crane, cantilevered vent or flare and other associated facilities. Sea Nova is available in three separate foundation configurations to suit any seabed conditions. These are:
• Gravity Base
• Conventional Pile
• Suction Pile
The Concrete Gravity Base can be designed to incorporate fluid storage if required. Any foundation option can accomodate pre or post drilling senarios.

Sea Nova is an approved design and has been built and deployed in both the U.K. and Dutch sectors for gas production and elsewhere for defence purposes. The design and construction have been verified by the American Bureau of Shipping, Lloyds Register and meet both UK and Dutch MRCS Regulations. Safety case has been prepared and approved to meet U.K. legislative requirements.

Sea Nova provides:
• Low-Cost (Capex)
• Low Maintenance (Opex)
• 95% Commissioned Onshore
• Large Useable Deck Space
• No Specialised Vessels for Installation or
  Removal
• Easy Removal and Reuse
• Can Operate Over a Range of Depths
  (Typically < 120m)
• Established Safety Case & Approval

Sea Nova can be used  for on-platform drilling and is being developed as a low-cost drilling facility.
